Macau Inner Harbour Shopping
Where to Shop and What to Buy in Macau Inner Harbour
The shopping experience at Inner Harbour is different from Downtown and the Outer Harbour. Markets here are focused on local shoppers and offer inexpensive products. Red Market is an active junction where you can find food, cooking ingredients, fresh meats, and green veggies.
Flora Garden sells a variety of goods, be it clothes, jewellry, cosmetics, or electronic items; you name it, this market has them all! For alternative options or more luxurious products, shoppers are recommended to stroll along Avenida do Infante Dom Henrique and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro in downtown and they will not be disappointed.
Flora Garden
Beyond the Red Market is the Flora Garden at Guia Hill, Avenida de Horta e Costa, another of the city’s main shopping streets, specialising in electronics, clothes, jewellry and cosmetics. The renowned Sam Jan Dang – Three Lamps District begins at Rotunda de Caros da Maia and covers several blocks. This is where visitors can immerse themselves in a network of enthusiastic street vendors and quaint shops selling various goods at competitive prices.
Red Market
Situated on the corner of Avenida Almirante Lacerda and Avenida Horta e Costa, amongst some of Macau’s most fascinating 20th century architecture, the market itself is an architectural heritage site.
Built in 1936 by Macanese architect Alberto Basto in an Art Deco style, the market owes its name to much of the surrounding red architecture. Still a thriving trading area, it is believed to sell the best and most inexpensive fruit and is the prime place to pick up dried foods, fresh produce, fish, and meat.
